Spirit of Blue Grant Opportunity

The Spirit of Blue Safety Grant Program offers fully funded equipment and training to law enforcement agencies—no matching funds required. Spirit of Blue typically handles all purchasing and delivery, so there’s no burden on your agency to manage procurement. Awards are non-cash and come with no reporting requirements—just a photo for public announcement.

Grant priorities fall into three main categories, and MotoShot aligns with each one:

Protecting Life: MotoShot supports life-saving readiness through dynamic, scenario-based training that helps officers recognize threats early and respond more effectively under stress.
Projecting Force: By simulating rapidly evolving and dangerous situations, MotoShot strengthens an officer’s ability to respond quickly and appropriately when force must be used to protect life.
Creating Advantage: MotoShot enhances tactical preparedness by giving officers access to realistic movement-based drills that sharpen awareness, coordination, and response—ultimately giving them the edge in unpredictable encounters.

Currently accepting applications for 2025 with awards announced beginning July 1, 2025. Applications are collected on an ongoing basis and are added to their active database.

If not selected in 2025, applications will automatically be reviewed and considered for the 2026 grant cycle beginning July 1, 2026.

The Spirit of Blue Safety Grants go far beyond just tourniquets—they fund a broad spectrum of active tools and tactical resources designed to protect officers in dynamic, real-world scenarios.

Recent grant awards have included:

Medical gear such as trauma kits, IFAKs, and tourniquets with professional-grade holsters—ensuring officers can respond immediately to critical injuries.
Ballistic protection including soft armor vests, rifle-rated plate carriers, and ballistic shields used in warrant service, active threat, and tactical deployments.
Tactical optics and weapons tools like EOTech sights and full patrol rifle systems, enhancing speed, accuracy, and decision-making under pressure.
Wearable safety lights and visibility gear for patrol, bike, and traffic officers operating in high-risk or low-light environments.
K9 protection, AEDs, night vision, and riot control tools—addressing specialized safety needs across various units.

MotoShot aligns directly with these active protection categories. It provides a dynamic, movement-based training platform that prepares officers to react to threats with precision, control, and confidence. By simulating unpredictable encounters—charging threats, crossfire risks, or moving suspects—MotoShot transforms firearms and decision-making training into a life-saving advantage.

Protecting Life

Scenario:
An officer responds to a domestic disturbance where a subject suddenly emerges from a hallway and charges. In that split second, the officer must assess the threat, avoid a bystander, and make a life-or-death decision.

How MotoShot aligns:
MotoShot replicates these unpredictable, high-risk situations in training. Officers practice under pressure, learning to identify threats, protect innocent parties, and act decisively—all of which prepare them to preserve life in the field.

Projecting Force

Scenario:
During a traffic stop, a suspect draws a weapon and begins to flee toward a crowded sidewalk. The officer must react with speed, accuracy, and restraint to stop the threat without endangering others.

How MotoShot aligns:
MotoShot enables officers to train with realistic moving targets that simulate fleeing, charging, or erratic suspects. This trains proper use-of-force responses within the continuum—teaching how to project force responsibly and effectively in real-world chaos.

Creating Advantage

Scenario:
A tactical team prepares for a warrant service in an unfamiliar layout. Knowing how quickly things can go wrong, they rehearse using MotoShot to simulate a suspect ambush—targeting their timing, communication, and coordination.

MotoShot gives teams a strategic edge by enabling them to train against unpredictable, mobile threats. This allows for more informed decision-making and team coordination, creating a lawful and tactical advantage in the field.
